Possibilities Africa History

During a mission trip to Kenya with a group of students and faculty from Moody Graduate School, founder Martin Simiyu shared his desire to help rural Africa build a sustainable, self-reliant future. Possibilities Africa (PA) embarked on a major focus to market a holistic approach, initiating training programs for pastors to build capacity.

Understanding that rural communities face deep challenges, PA has undertaken extensive program reviews. Setting a new growth agenda, we are expanding our operations with a vision to establish active training networks in 20 new country programs across the continent.

Our Philosophy

Nehemiah's Rebuilding Approach

Our philosophy of ministry is rooted in the story and work of Nehemiah in the Bible. Just as Nehemiah worked diligently to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem by mobilizing local residents and leveraging their collective resources, we work with local communities to rebuild their lives and restore their dignity.

We teach that change is possible when people take personal responsibility, join hands in unity, and leverage what God has already placed in their hands.

Holistic Faith

We believe that the Bible is God's word and it provides all that man requires for life and godliness.

Our Beliefs

We believe the Bible, the Old and New testaments, as the inspired Word of God for faith and practice. The Bible is the basis and authority for all that we believe and do.

We believe in one God who has revealed himself as Father, Son and the Holy Spirit and from whom all things are created.

PHASE 01

2002 – 2008

Ideation, learning & discovery

On a mission trip to Kenya with Moody Graduate School USA, Martin shared his desire to return to Africa to serve poor communities.

PHASE 02

2009 – 2016

Mission acceptance & expansion

PA initiated training programs for pastors to build capacity for holistic ministry, reaching 13 communities across Kenya, Malawi and Rwanda.

PHASE 03

2017 – 2019

Evaluation & repositioning

A 'Know Your Client' survey reshaped the baseline — focusing on motivated, committed pastor leaders.

PHASE 04

2020 →

Vision 2030 initiated

A new growth agenda to establish 20 new countries of operation in strategic locations across Africa.
